Dimanche 11 novembre, date commémorative de ce qui devait être « la der des der », plusieurs associations appellent à un rassemblement à 16 heures au PARC DE BERCY pour révéler la vérité sur « le soldat israélien inconnu », à l’endroit où sont affichées les photos dont aucun passant ne peut savoir qu’il s’agit de soldats étrangers faits prisonniers sur des territoires occupés par leur armée. Merci de venir nombreux pour dire NON à toutes les guerres et à toutes les occupations.
Diverses actions de par le monde nous montrent que la mobilisation contre l’occupation et contre la guerre grandit dans de nombreux pays et que la mobilisation est souvent récompensée, même quand elle est initiée par des groupes numériquement peu importants (cf http://www.europalestine.com/spip.php?article2846 )
Nous sommes persuadés que nous avons les moyens de faire tourner la roue dans le bon sens, si nous sommes plus nombreux à exprimer ce sentiment très partagé de dégoût et d’indignation face aux injustices et aux mensonges actuels.
Ceux qui tiennent les rênes du pouvoir ont beaucoup d’atouts, c’est vrai : des dirigeants politiques corrompus, une presse aux ordres dans sa grande majorité, des moyens de répression divers et variés, quand l’intox ne marche pas.
Mais ils ont aussi plus d’une « épine dans le pied ». Les guerres sont toutes de sanglants échecs, à commencer par celle menée en Irak. Et elles coûtent cher. Si cher, que les citoyens américains le sentent passer, en termes de coupes dans les budgets sociaux, augmentation des prix, accession à la petite propriété (« subprimes »)…
Les occupations, le terrorisme d’Etat et les violations du droit international ont semé la violence dans le monde entier sans que le bout du tunnel soit en vue, au contraire.
La Palestine en est l’illustration la plus frappante : 60 ans d’annexions, d’expulsions, d’occupation, d’emprisonnements, pour quel résultat ? Des millions de Palestiniens constamment brutalisés, sont néanmoins déterminés à rester sur leurs terres, et les Israéliens n’ont pas la moindre perspective de vivre en paix, tant qu’ils misent sur la force et bafouent le droit. Même avec le soutien des gouvernements corrompus du monde, ils ne peuvent éviter, avec une telle politique, de se heurter à l’hostilité de l’ensemble des populations arabes au milieu desquelles ils ont choisi de s’installer, tout en les méprisant.
Où va nous mener cette fuite en avant, cette escalade meurtrière qui voudrait qu’il y ait toujours un pays à attaquer, avec ses centaines de milliers de morts et de blessés dans la population civile ? Palestine, Afghanistan, Irak, Liban… et bientôt Iran ou Syrie, et pourquoi pas le Vénézuela ou Cuba, qui ont le malheur de ne pas obéir aux diktats états-uniens ? La propagande de guerre est omniprésente. « Il faut s’attendre au pire », clament les Sarkozy-Kouchner. Oui, si nous laissons faire des hommes comme ceux-là, nous pouvons nous attendre au pire. Et on n’a encore rien vu.
Pour le moment, nous nous sentons encore loin de ces explosions, incursions, mares de sang. Ici, on se contente de rogner progressivement les acquis (retraites, franchises médicales, droit de grève, universités réservées aux plus riches….). Et pour remplir ces objectifs, c’est à dire les poches des multinationales, on attaque parallèlement les libertés publiques (vidéosurveillance, fichage, tests génétiques…).
Mais comment empêcher un nombre croissant de citoyens dans le monde de comprendre qu’il s’agit d’une même logique, du même « diviser pour régner » (Français contre étrangers, « judéo-chrétiens » contre musulmans, sunnites contre chiites…), du même pillage des plus pauvres dans les pays du Sud comme du Nord, et des mêmes mensonges de la part de ceux qui sèment la terreur et prétendent ensuite mener « la lutte contre le terrorisme » ? On sait à quoi s’en tenir sur les soi-disant « armes de destructions massives » en Irak. Mais voilà qu’on nous ressert le même plat empoisonné avec la « menace nucléaire iranienne », alors que des pays aussi agressifs et hors-la-loi qu’Israël et les Etats-Unis possèdent la bombe atomique. Les morts et les destructions au Liban avec des bombes à fragmentation durant l’été 2006, ce n’était pas l’Iran ! Le napalm au Vietnam et en Algérie, non plus. Sans parler de Hiroshima et Nagasaki.
Il ne faut pas attendre qu’il soit trop tard pour dire NON ! Dans tous les pays, dans toutes les villes, nous devons montrer que nous ne sommes pas dupes et que nous nous opposons à cette barbarie programmée.
11 NOVEMBRE A PARIS : RASSEMBLEMENT CONTRE L’APOLOGIE DE CRIMES DE GUERRE
Comme vous le savez, la Mairie de Paris a installé dans le Parc public de Bercy (12ème arrondissement de Paris) un panneau à la gloire de l’armée israélienne en affichant « Paris se mobilise pour » au-dessus de la photo des trois soldats israéliens faits prisonniers au Liban et à Gaza. Et elle compte l’y laisser « jusqu’à leur libération » (!). Elle ne se mobilise pas en revanche, contre la détention en Israël de 11 000 prisonniers politiques palestiniens, qui refusent l’occupation de leur territoires, parmi lesquels des centaines de femmes, d’enfants, 45 parlementaires enlevés après les élections de janvier 2006, ainsi qu’un étudiant franco-palestinien, Salah Hamouri, que nos dirigeants laissent croupir depuis deux ans dans les geôles israéliennes malgré les démarches de sa mère française.

CALL TO DEMONSTRATE AGAINST THE SUPPORT GIVEN BY THE MUNICIPAILTY OF PARIS TO THE ISRAELI ARMY
Various actions around the world show us that demonstrations against the occupation and against war are growing Iin many countries and that these demonstrations have often been successful, even when they have been started by numerically small groups (see http://www.europalestine.com/spip.php?article2846).
We are persuaded that we have the means to turn the wheel in the right direction, if there are more of us to express this widely shared feeling of disgust and indignation at the present injustices and lies.
Those who hold the reins of power have many advantages, it is true: corrupt political leaders, a press in the main obeying, varied means of repression when poison does not work.
But they also have a « thorn in the foot ». Wars are all bloody failures, beginning with that waged in Iraq. And they cost a lot. So much in fact that citizens of the USA feel its effect in terms of cuts in social budgets, rising prices and property purchase (« subprimes ») …
Occupations, state terrorism and violations of international law have sown violence in the whole world without the end of the tunnel being in sight, quite the opposite.
Palestine is the most striking illustration of this: 60 years of annexations, expulsions, occupation, imprisonments, with what result ? Millions of Palestinians constantly being brutalised are nevertheless determined to stay on their lands, and the Israelis have not the least likelihood of living in peace as long as they count on force alone and scorning legality. Even with the support of corrupt governments in the world, they cannot avoid, with such policies, coming up against the hostility of all the Arab peoples in the middle of whom they have chosen to settle, while at the same time looking down on them.
Where is this flight forward going to lead us, this murderous escalation which wishes there always to be a country to attack, with hundreds of thousands of dead and wounded among the civil population ? Palestine, Afghanistan, Iraq, the Lebanon … and soon Iran and Syria, and why not Venezuela or Cuba, which have the bad fortune not to obey the Diktats of the USA ? War propaganda is everywhere. « One must expect the worst » declare Sarkozy and Kouchner. Yes, if we allow men like that do what they want, we can expect the worst. And we have so far seen nothing.
For the moment, we feel ourselves far away from these explosions, incursions and pools of blood. Here, they are so far progressively nibbling away at our achievements (pensions, medical repayments, right to strike, universities reserved for the richest …). And to fulfill these objectives, in other words the pockets of the multinationals, they are in parallel attacking public freedoms (CCTV, opening files on people, genetic tests …).
But how can one stop a growing number of citizens of the world from believing that it forms part of the same logic, of the same « divide and rule » (French against foreigners, « Judeo-Christians » against Muslims, Sunni against Shia …), of the same pillage of the poorest countries in the South as in the North, and of the same lies. We know what to think of the supposed « weapons of mass destruction » in Iraq. And now we have dished up the same poisonous dish with the « Iranian nuclear threat », while countries as aggressive and lawless as Israel and the USA already have the atomic bomb. Who caused the deaths and destruction in the Lebanon in the summer of 2006 ? It was not Iran. Nor was the napalm in Vietnam and Algeria, without mentioning Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
We must not leave it too late to say NO ! In every country, in every town and city, we must show that we are have not been fooled, and that we object to this programme of barbarity.
11 NOVEMBER IN PARIS : CALL TO DEMONSTRATE AGAINST PRAISING WAR CRIMES
As you know, while the Israeli government bombs and shells the Gaza Strip (starving the inhabitants is not enough for it), the Municipality of Paris, which has installed in the Parc de Bercy an noticeboard stating that « Paris shows its support for » three soldiers from the Israeli Occupation Forces, intends to keep it there « until they are freed » (!). It fails to « show its support » on the other hand for the detention by Israel of 11,000 Palestinian political prisoners, who refuse to accept the occupation of their lands, including hundreds of women and children, 45 elected representatives kidnapped after the elections in January 2006 and a Franco-Palestinian student, Salah Hamouri, whom our rulers have allowed to rot for two years in Israeli gaols despite the steps taken by his French mother.
Next Sunday being the anniversary of the dead in the first World War (the war supposed to be the last one), we call upon as many of you as possible to take part in a gathering at 4 PM int he PARC of BERCY where the 3 pictures stand. Please pass on this information.
