Merci à Lynn Gottlieb pour cette lettre adressée au gouvernement français et aux magistrats en soutien aux personnes inculpées dans les procès BDS, et notamment le prochain à venir, ce jeudi 15 mars au Tribunal de Bobigny, où le « défenseur des Droits », Dominique Baudis se commet, toute honte bue, aux côtés des parties civiles !

A QUI DE DROIT
« En tant que citoyenne américaine et rabbin qui croit à la Déclaration Universelle des Droits de l’Homme en tant que règle commune pour tous les êtres humains, je vous demande d’abandonner les accusations contre Olivia Zémor et les trois militants inculpés en même temps qu’elle, pour avoir appelé au boycott des produits israéliens.
Le boycott est un outil de pression économique dans un contexte où Israël viole le droit international de nombreuses manières — comme il est établi dans le rapport Goldstone, par Amnesty International, par les associations israéliennes B’Tselem et Médecins pour les Droits de l’Homme, par AL HAQ et des dizaines d’autres associations de défense des droits de l’Homme– et reste toutefois impuni.
Il ne fait aucun doute que l’occupation des territoires palestiniens par Israël est illégale.
Le boycott est une méthode de résistance non violente citoyenne et noble qui ne s’en prend pas aux vies humaines mais exerce une pression publique pour faire changer les comportements.
La France, qui a des responsabilités historiques envers les Juifs français étant donné son rôle pendant la deuxième guerre mondiale, n’a pas le droit de prohiber le recours au boycott tel qu’il existe pour faire pression sur l’Etat d’Israël et l’amener à changer sa politique, qui viole les droits humains des Palestiniens de manière massive.
Il existe en outre des dizaines de milliers de Juifs dans le monde qui soutiennent la campagne BDS, y compris l’association « Jewish Voice for Peace (Voix Juive pour la Paix) dont je fais partie. Il y a aussi des Juifs qui soutiennent BDS par amour pour Israël et par désir de faire cesser une politique nuisible pour tous ceux qui vivent dans cette région, Juifs, Musulmans comme Chrétiens.
L’occupation doit cesser. Le boycott est un moyen de construire un mouvement social permettant ce changement.
J’espère que vous renoncerez donc à toutes les charges contre les prévenus.

To Whom It May Concern,
As an American citizen and a practicing rabbi who believes in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as a common standard
for all people, I want to urge you to drop the charges against three activists, including Olivia Zemor for advocating a boycott of Israeli products.
Boycott is a tool for economic pressure. Although Israeli is violating international law on many fronts as outlined in the Goldstone Report, Amnesty International Reports and by B’Tselem, Israeli Physicians for Human Rights, Al Haq and dozens of other human rights organizations, Israel remains free of consequences.
There is no question that Israel’s Occupation of Palestinian lands is illegal. Boycott is an honored nonviolent method of public resistance that does not cause harm to human life, but does use the instrument of public pressure to influence a change of behavior.
While France does have a historical obligation to French Jewry for the French role in World War II, this does not include inhibiting the right use of limited boycott to exert pressure upon the State of Israel to change state policies that violate Palestinian human rights on a massive scale.
In addition, there are tens of thousands of Jews throughout the world that support the BDS movement, including Jewish Voice for Peace of which I am a member. Jews who support BDS are also doing so out of a love of Israel and a desire to see an end to what we regard as a terrible policy that harms everyone living in the region, Jews, Muslims and Christians alike. Occupation must end.
Boycott is a way to build a social movement for change. I hope you drop all charges.
