Le 12 juillet 2006, Israël attaque le Liban. Le chef de l’armée Dan Halutz promet de « ramener le Liban vingt ans en arrière » et un déluge de feu s’abat sur tout le pays.
« Nous avons besoin de 8 jours pour finir le travail » , claironnent les dirigeants israéliens. Trente-trois jours plus tard, malgré plus de 1200 morts, des milliers de blessés, la résistance libanaise sous la conduite du Hezbollah a vaincu l’une des armées les plus puissantes du monde.
Les armes les plus sophistiquées, ayant échoué, il reste l’arme idéologique. Elle va être actionnée de manière massive par les lobbys occidentaux. Il n’y aura aucune condamnation de la part des grandes puissances ni de l’ONU. L’« usage disproportionné de la force » timidement reproché à Israël va vite laisser la place à l’indignation concernant la capture de trois soldats israéliens par la résistance libanaise et palestinienne !
La meilleure artillerie lourde, c’est une fois de plus le matraquage des ondes, avec intervention ad nauseum d’« intellectuels » et d’avocats exprimant leur soutien face à « la nouvelle menace d’extermination » que ferait peser la résistance de populations occupées sur le « peuple juif ». Et de souligner qu’Israël ne se bat pas seulement pour son compte, mais pour défendre la civilisation contre les barbares, les terroristes musulmans.
« Au début, les juifs avaient besoin d’un Etat. Maintenant l’Etat a besoin des juifs », disait Ilan Halevy, il y a déjà une vingtaine d’années, en parlant des Juifs de la diaspora sollicités par Israël, et volontiers culpabilisés de mener une existence tranquille tandis que l’Etat hébreu était en danger. « L’état d’urgence est congénital à l’Etat d’Israël pour tout justifier ».
Il faut que les juifs de la diaspora mettent eux aussi les mains dans le cambouis, quitte à déconsidérer l’ensemble des juifs. Par un soutien financier, mais surtout en exerçant une influence sur l’ensemble de la société, au travers des médias et des politiques. Entretenir la culpabilité par rapport à l’extermination des Juifs, mais aussi faire croire que l’antisémitisme est omniprésent, quitte à le créer ou à l’inventer.
Elie Wiesel décrivant la « France obscurcie de la fumée qui monte des synagogues incendiées » ou Sharon demandant aux Juifs de France de « faire leurs valises » en 2004, cela fait partie du scénario. De même que l’affabulation, comme on a pu le voir en France, champion du monde, en matière de couverture médiatique de rabbins qui se poignardent eux-mêmes, et de mythomanes qui inventent des histoires d’agressions antisémites dans les trains de banlieue, que les medias peu regardants reprennent en chœur.
A force de déclarer que tous les juifs du monde approuvent la politique israélienne, à force d’organiser des galas au profit d’une armée d’occupation dans les synagogues, à force de faire parler des Alain Finkielkraut et Arno Klarsfeld au nom « des Juifs », il est indéniable que l’on risque de confondre judaïsme et crimes israéliens. Les pyromanes se soucient peu des feux qu’ils ont allumés. Pour le moment, c’est l’autre, « l’Arabe », le « terroriste » qui est stigmatisé. Tout va bien.

The Lebanon: “We need 8 days to finish the job”
On 12 July 2006, Israel attacked the Lebanon. Dan Halutz, the army chief-of-staff, promised to “turn the clock back twenty years in Lebanon”, and a deluge of fire was unleashed on the whole country. “We need eight days to finish the job”, trumpeted the Israeli leaders. Thirty-three days later, despite more than 1200 deaths and thousands of wounded, Lebanese resistance, led by the Hezbollah, had defeated one of the most powerful armies in the world.
As the most sophisticated arms had failed, the Israelis turned to the weapon of ideology. It was activated on a massive scale by the Western lobbyists. There was no condemnation from the great powers or from the UN. The “disproportional use of force” for which Israel was timidly reproached quickly gave way to indignation over the capture of three Israeli soldiers by the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance!
Once again, the most effective heavy artillery proved to be media manipulation, with endless speeches from “intellectuals” and lawyers expressing their support for Israel in the face of the “new threat of extermination” said to be posed by the resistance of occupied populations for the “Jewish people”, and emphasising that Israel was fighting not only on its own behalf, but to defend civilisation against the barbarians: – Islamic terrorists.
“To begin with, the Jews needed a state. Now, the State needs Jews”, said Ilan Halevy, more than twenty years ago, speaking of the Jews of the Diaspora called upon by Israel, and deliberately made to feel guilty for leading a peaceful existence while the Jewish state was in danger. “The state of emergency is congenital to the State of Israel, as a means of justifying everything” . The Jews of the Diaspora were expected to play their part, or show disregard for the Jewish people as a whole.
Through financial support, but above all by exerting an influence on the whole society, through the media and politics. Maintaining a feeling of guilt with regard to the extermination of the Jews, but also persuading the public that anti-Semitism is omnipresent, even if it means creating or inventing it.
Elie Wiesel describing “France obscured by the smoke rising from burning synagogues” or Sharon calling on the Jews of France to “pack their bags” in 2004 are both part of this scenario. So is confabulation, as we have witnessed in France, the world champion in the field of media coverage for rabbis who stab themselves and mythomaniacs who invent tales of anti-Semitic assaults in suburban trains, taken up in chorus by the media without any regard for their veracity.
By continually declaring that all the Jews in the world approve of Israeli policy, by organising gala evenings in synagogues in support of an army of occupation, by getting people like Alain Finkielkraut and Arno Klarsfeld to speak “on behalf of Jews”, there is certainly a grave danger that Judaism will end up being identified with Israeli crimes. Pyromaniacs show little concern for the consequences of the fires they light. For the time being, it is the others, the “Arabs”, the “terrorists” who are stigmatised. All is well.
